SEOS kits with AE woofers?

Has there been any discussion about any future SEOS kits using AE woofers?

Ideally I would like to build LCR's using the TD15M, DNA-360, and either the SEOS 15 or 18 (probably the 15 since their will be a much cheaper plastic version soon) Then for sides and surrounds I was thinking the TD10M, DNA-360, and seos 12.

Perhaps Eric can chime in on this.

Thanks

There's been some discussion, but I believe it was decided not to do it do to availability. There are numerous designs for the 12 and there will surely be more for the 15.

I believe there is a front baffle that works with the 2 cubic foot flat pack. At that point you just need to order the remaining drivers and crossover parts and assemble. Honestly beyong the ordering of parts, it would go together like any other kit.

Edit, this is for the 12" woofer. The 15 and 10 might be available after the matching seos waveguides show up in plastic

To me the main difference is being able to order the completed crossover. I don't mind doing any of the box, I just do not want to touch the crossover.

I felt the same way. but the crossovers are actually a piece of cake.

There are people around the forum's the will build it for you. I don't know if they charge or not. The crossover isn't too bad, just practice soldering on spare wires first.

I would expect that somebody would be happy to design a network for that combo. it will be a winner and like you say, with the plastic 15 horn, it is an obvious low-cost super-performer.

2.5 cubic feet sealed with stuffing gives -3db at 85hz, q=0.707.

^ Nice.

Before I got the TD12M's I simmed the 15M both ported and sealed...did the same as you for sealed LTD.

ozziedog, you should hop on the plastic 15 GB if you haven't already. I've got the TD10M, DNA-360, and SEOS-12...but I'm designing for the TD10M and SEOS-AT1 w/DNA-360 or BMS 4550 atm.

Erich and I have discussed some things over the past year or so. We have had some discussions how some kits could be mutually beneficial to both of us as well as the DIY users. The main setback has been mostly on my end in having the time to work through some of the details. If it is something people want to see, I am sure it can be put as more priority here. I just posted up on the facebook page a few days ago asking what people want to see and giving a few options for different kit options I am looking into pursuing. You are welcome to stop by there and weigh in on what you would like to see me work on first.

Glad to see you and Eric are looking into this already. I will definitely be getting on your Facebook page. Thanks for the reply.
