NHT Promotions

I am going to be purchasing an NHT surround system in the next few weeks. In doing some research I see that NHT has run some pretty decent promotions in the past. I have seen a few 20% off and even one where you bought two towers you got a center speaker for free.

is their any rhyme or reason to their promotions? Would love to take advantage but do not want to wait several months.

Thanks

They had the Absolute Zero for $175 each 1-2 wk ago. Maybe they can match it for you as they've done for a few people.

Very accurate +/-0.9dB FR speakers.

The SuperZero is $60 each.

I'm listening to the Absolute Zero's as I type this, and they're certainly nice little speakers. Solid build and gorgeous finish too. I'm not convinced they're worth the almost $450 a pair they sell for regularly though, but they do have good sound quality. $350 for a pair is a good price.

Thanks for that. Anything in particular the absolutes lack? Just want to make sure I get bang for my buck. Many thanks

Without knowing what you plan on using them for -- HT, music, gaming, some combination of them -- it's difficult to provide much of an answer. Also, room size plays a critical role, so that information is important as well. But in the general sense, the NHT speakers are a good choice. They're precise and have very good dynamics. Unless you crank the volume up to ridiculous levels they tend to remain composed. They will get somewhat "bright" as they reach their limit though.

My comment regarding the price is based upon the fact they're made overseas, which to me means they should be a bit less. NHT doesn't necessarily charge a premium, but they aren't inexpensive either; a 5.0 system consisting of 4 Absolute Zeros and a matching center is over $1200, which isn't cheap by my standards. They don't have too many flaws though.

Jim - How do they rank against Cambridge Audio S30's? I'd like to know for future recommendations.

Room is pretty small. This is an upstairs bonus. Dimensions of around 14X14

I don't actually have any first hand experience with the S30's, but check with Cel4145 (Charlie). He owns a pair of those, and would probably be able to answer all your questions.

I compared the Absolute Zero and S30 awhile back, and posted some comments in this thread...

The posts are a bit spread out though.

Call them and see if they'll work with you on price. Nothing to lose.

I have Threes and love 'em.
