All three would be great choices. The Sony has some of the lowest lag of any set the in 2013, but overall the Samsungs would probably offer better PQ. While Sony offers frame dimming (faux local dimming) and the Samsung offer micro-dimming (advanced dynamic contrast) none if them offer a great solution to Full array local dimming, but they don't hurt. Samsung uses the VA panel which offer better black levels, but worse viewing angles. Sony offer IPS panels (LG) that offer better overall motion performance and viewing angles, but considerably worse black level and contrast. If you can get a Samsung that employs a Samsung panel, not AUOptronics,Chi Mei or Sharp you will get better quality. I am not sure there is a dedicated thread for identifying them, but I believe TS01 panel are Samsung.

Cant say I agree that the Sammy will have a ''better'' pq.. I was comparing the same tvs and came to the conclusion that the sony produced the overall better, accurate picture compared to the f7100... Took a usb, did a reset on both and the Sony looked natural vs the Sammy looked neon/oversaturated compared to the sony... You could also see less detail on the Sammy because of the oversaturation.. It also has significantly lower input lag, etc..

I say take a usb with some comparison photos and you'll see the difference.

Found these videos too where I got the comparison photos

I would like to have him set them on their respective cinema modes and see how off they are. I am a huge Sony fan having owned an NX720,HX800 and HX929. I know that Sony has some of the best processing in the biz.

For the most part Samsung's "Standard" mode is only about 1/2 step down from being "Vivid" mode. I have owned both the F7100 and W802a and preferred the image quality of the Sammy over the Sony. Using "movie" mode and calibrating from there can yield awesome results. Unfortunately with Samsung you are playing the panel lottery. Look on the end of the retail box with the model and barcodes and find the version # (TS01,CH01, etc) as far as I know Samsung makes the HS01 and TS01 panels. I believe AH models are AUOptronics and CH models are CHI MEI. The internals are all Samsung, but the screens are 3rd party on those models,so ideally you want a Samsung screen for better QA.

This is a good summary, if you do a side by side and you are dead on.
