Netflix 3D: what type of 3D are they using?

I'm trying to figure out what type of 3D Netflix is streaming over their Open Connect CDN.

The requirements for viewing Netflix 3D are so strict that I wonder if they're using MVC (multiview video coding) to encode the videos, but at the same time I wonder if they're just using a higher-definition top/bottom or side-to-side format.

Does anyone have any idea?

I didn't even know there was 3D on Netflix. Off to research!

It started in January with the Super HD roll-out. Not everyone can get it to get it: your ISP has to be a member of Netflix's Open Connect CDN and you have to have specific hardware like a PS3 and obviously a 3D TV. Of course the big ISPs haven't signed up yet!

There's not much worth watching. Mostly childrens programming and some documentaries.
