If you think the RS55 and Sony VW1000 looks the same in 2D I think you need to look again. I have tested many of the latest JVC models in my own HT and none of them is even close to the VW1000 in 2D or 3D, the differences are big! And If you saw the VW1000 two years ago I am impressed because it was not nearly released, and if you saw one it was an early preproduction model and it was not nearly as good as the later production models. I have also read these reviews and I really think it is shining throug that they are JVC fanboys. I personally don´t care what the label on the projector says I only want the best that suits my budget and the last 1,5 years nothing has been close to the VW1000. And I really look forward to the moment when something beats it and then I will buy that projector and if it is a Sony, JVC, Sim2 or even Epson it does not matter!
And blee0120 you say you trus your own eyes, but you also trust these reviewer alot, I personally also trust my own eyes and also test alot with more than one person in the HT and no one has ever preferred any JVC over the VW1000. The latest JVC are very good machines, but the VW1000 is in another league and with the pricedifference it damn well should be.
And if you like vibrant oversaturated colors I understand why you like the M150 because it looks very oversaturated if it is not calibrated, I personally don´t like that look.
And danielmunds the brightness was not the same when I tested the M150 and the VW1000 side by side because the we would have to crank down the lightoutput of the VW1000 to much. And I dont think it is correct to do that, if you test cars side by side you don´t turn down the power on the most powerful to get them even. But I have tested alot of projectors in my own HT (about 50) and I have the experience not to prefer the one with the most light. I found nothing the M150 was better than the VW1000 on than lamplife. I have also tested the Lumis 3DS and it has alot more light than the VW1000, but I prefer the VW1000 in 2D and the Lumis in 3D (as I do most DLP over SXRD) and think the Lumis is very overpriced when it comes to its performance.Edited by Andreas21 - 9/1/13 at 5:52am
