Nice to see a thread dedicated to the m-series alone. Can't wait to dig in and learn more to get the most out of my new tv.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I have a Vizio M-series TV and I enjoy it a lot.

Hey everybody.  New poster to the forums but have been lurking now and again for a few years.  Glad to be a member.

Thanks Scott... glad to join the club!  Actually, "re-join"... I was involved several years ago, but have been out of touch for awhile and could not remember my user name or password, so figured it was easier to simply start over!!  I live in Pittsburgh, PA, I currently have several systems: an ancient Optoma RD50 RP TV, a 2-year old 52" Samsung LCD TV and a 4-year old Samsung plasma TV in my bedroom, and I'm about ready to pull the trigger on getting a Samsung 65" Series 8500 plasma to replace the Optoma.  The Optoma is hooked up to an Arcam 5.1 receiver with Vandersteen speakers, and the 52" Samsung LCD is going through an older Sony ES 5.1 receiver with an Acculine speaker system.  I mainly watch broadcast TV programs with Verizon FIOS as my provider, and I watch a lot of live sports... especially the Steelers, Penguins and Pirates as well as Penn State football (my alma mater).

Good evening, evabuddy. I am an anomaly here, since I don't watch TV at all nor do I have a big screen. hehe. But I am a PC gaming fanatic and a wanna-be audiophile on a small budget. I lke to hover here because many of you have started out with the not-so-expensive mid-range stereo components, and that is a valuable asset for me.

At present I have my sound system hooked up to my PC. A bottom of the line Sony 7.1ch receiver, a pair of vintage KEF dual-8" driver mini-towers, a pair of used B&W 601s, and a Polk Audio 12" 300 watt powered subwoofer. It's all wrapped around me in a near-field setup, and I'm very pleased with the sound, so of course I'm always looking for different components because that's what we all do when we like good sound. I'm looking for a good low-priced integrated amp to replace the receiver, though I'm willing to admit that for a measly $150 delivered, the Sony receiver sounds really good.

Anyway, I'm glad I found this site, and I've already had many people give me great advice for new parts, for which I'm grateful.

I am in Oklahoma and have a strong video background but I come from the SD video side of the tracks.  But I am still familiar with HD video.  I have stayed within my shoot, edit, author realm of uses and terms.  However, I have been asked to do some things that fall outside that comfort zone and when I ask Google what to do, I am directed to sales teams that will tell me anything to move a product that is incredibly expensive, especially when I discover that it doesn't do what I need.  I come to this forum to help sort the fact from the lies.  It has already cost me dearly.

I joined AVS to learn about how to edit HDV footage, back in the DV era. Welcome to the forum.

Hi,

I am in Charlotte.   Joined to find out about a replacement optimization mic for a Yamaha RX-v663.  I also have some older equipment I may post as for sale, if that is legal here.  (some Dynaco and Audionics PZ3 stuff.)

Hello, I've decided that after lurking the AVS forums for the past year to finally create an account. I currently do not have a setup, however am planning on starting sometime this upcoming year to have a living room / home theater. I look forward to getting to know some of the members here. I will be posting a few questions soon, for suggestions. Also hopefully as time goes on and my experience and knowledge with certain equipment grows I will be able to provide some helpful input as well.

Thanks Very much

Hello all, This is Gary in the Uk, experimenting with HTPC and have built into an Antec case and need to change power supply but noted they are a custom unit with an addition to the 24 pin. Was looking for advice and through this site I discovered some useful information.

Keep up the good work everybody.

Hello everyone, I've popped in here many times over the last couple years after cutting the cord to satellite TV. Purchasing DTVPal and Magnavox DVRs have made watching OTA TV much nicer. Recently I acquired an Iview-3500stbII and have been having a blast playing around with it.

Just wanted to thank all you guys for sharing your experiences and information, my TV viewing is much more enjoyable as a result.

Hails.

I joined the forum because of the audio DIY areas and for future advice on HT.

I took apart my HT due to noise and space issues (I live in an apartment) and swapped for a stereo system, which I'm enjoying a lot.

But, I got a problem with my KEF Q300 speaker (the tweeter has burnt). While talking to a guy he recommended to join this forum to talk to KEF guys in order to get help.

Cheers.

Thanks for the welcome. Awesome site, with some fantastic answers to some curly questions. Always read and digested and until now found what I needed and didn't require me top post. But the bad Denon elves have finally struck and I am stuck. I'l  be looking to get some answers hopefully in the Denon 3313 threads

Cheers
