Yamaha HTR-7065 (Similar to RX-V773)

Found a great price on this receiver. The key is it has pre-outs. Very hard to find a network AVR that has pre-outs without spending a lot of money.

How are refurbished Yamaha products from NewEgg? Do they look and perform like new? Thanks.

I'll let you know. I ordered one yesterday. I looked all over...including Ebay and I had a hard time finding a network AVR with pre-outs for under $300 used.

In most cases the hardware comes directly from the manufacturer (sealed) and the dealer isn't involved. Across the board I think Yamaha is hit or miss like most refurbs. Fry's has/have carried various (refurb) models and their displays have varied to a large degree.

Hmm.... interesting. I bought a new RX-A820 from BestBuy for $350 but returned it as it had all accessories missing - only the unit. This HTR-7065 seems to come in a factory sealed box with all accessories (as per images on Newegg) - most likely excess inventory left over from last year being sold off as refurbished. Maybe I will buy one after sleeping on it a bit.

BTW, you can use the promocode VME20BTS to get $20 off if you pay with V.Me

Fry's has/had the same model... http://www.frys.com/product/7370214?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

On close-out at the stores (not online) and they are clearly marked on the box.

Yes, I signed up for a V.me account and the total was $339 shipped. I work for a home theater store and I sell Yamaha Aventage primarily. I'll be interested to see how this HTR stacks up against the Aventage line.

I ordered one today. Someone posted on Slickdeals that their refurbished Yamaha came in today from Newegg and it looked perfect. Sounds like it could be old stock that Yamaha is getting rid of.

The price for what you get I don't think anything can touch it right now.

After some research on the HTR-7065, I decided to go for it and ordered one. This will be used to drive Infinity Primus P363s / P153s and a Klipsch RW-12D sub. Don't have a center channel speaker yet, so will be using a P153 as the center for the time being. This is a blind purchase and I really hope the receiver and the speakers play nice with each other.

Cool! Let us know how they sound together. I'll be using this with Adcom power amps running NHT 2.5 towers, and rear in walls.

HI!
Does anybody know can HTR-7065 be powered by 220V line? Or it limited only by US 120V? Official HTR-7065 Owner's Manual is very uncertain
I saw very delicious price in newegg and I'm wondering if I can use it in Russia.

Usually the Yamaha US models have only a US specific power supply. There is no voltage selector switch on the back like in EU/Asian versions. See the photos of back panel on Newegg.

Got my receiver yesterday. It was marked "B Stock" on the out side of the box and looked like it was factory sealed. Opened up the box and everything looked new. Hooked it up a d set everything up and can't be happier. Definetly recomend this.

Did you calibrate it using ypao? If so how does it sound? I've read that ypao sets the subwoofer output a little low. Did that seem to be the case?

Didn't really get a chance to calibrate with ypao yet. I ran it once with a baby crying in the backround and it set the sub to -10db. It's something I'll work on in the next day or so. I ma replacing a RX-V661 and when I ran Ypao on that I ended up turning up the back channels because I like a little more rear sound then Ypao delivers. I'll see if this is the case with this receiver.

Got mine today and your description fits it exactly - marked as "B Stock" on the box, but everything inside looked brand new. No scratches or dings... not even finger smudges. Everything packed well and I am sure I am the first one to open the box after it left the factory. The box flaps were actually stapled together and then taped over - just like a new box. I think this is left over stock from last year being disposed off at a low price and reduced warranty to compensate for the low price.

Going to set it up this evening.... the fun begins biggrin.gif
