The NFL on XB1 - New App and Live Streaming of NFL Network? (Thursday Night Football / Red Zone)

Saw this today. Looks like XB1 owners with gold live accounts will have streaming of the NFL Network for free?? Including Thursday Night Football and RedZone? Am I reading this right?

Almost seems to good to be true....

Do current Xbox 360 owners get this to? I got rid of my 360 about a month ago, can anyone confirm if there is a new NFL app that does this?

"Additional subscriptions and/or requirements apply for some features, including NFL Red Zone. "

It could be something where you need to be subscribed to NFL Redzone/Network through your cable provider. Just like HBO Go and other video apps.

Dammit. I thought it sounded too good to be true.

Yeah, it would be awesome if there was some "a la carte" way to get the NFL Network. As a cord cutter, I have zero interest in getting a cable or satellite subscription in the near future, so I probably won't be able to take advantage of any of this stuff. I'd be willing to pay $15 per month for the NFL Network (for the 4 months that the NFL Season runs), just to be able to see the Thursday Night games.

But getting an actual cable or sattelite sub is out of the equation. I play too many video games and spend too much time on the internet to justify a $120 per month cable bill.

$120/month??? man, you're getting ripped off! there are plenty of TV packages cheaper than that...

Yeah, you can find packages for less than that. My bill is only $120 right now, and that's because I am paying for Sunday ticket and have HBO, plus I have 4 receivers in my house. Usually it sits around $90 a month.

Ya, worst case scenario here, App will only live stream NFL network if you have a sub to it already via cable or satellite.

Well, for me, everything needs to be HD, and some providers still charge a premium for that. Also, I wouldn't want to pay more than $25 or $30 a month, and I know of no package that doesn't require special long term contracts and stuff that would fit in that window with being HD, and also going for only $25 or $30 a month. Everything is like $50, $60 on up, and if you want some special $29.99 deal, you have to lock in for 2 or 3 years.

Bottom line, I'm never going back to cable or satellite until there is some radical change.

So live streaming with no way to FF, REW, or Pause? That would be like watching Tv in the seventies.

I need to know if it will have the ticket. redzone and some dumb fantasy garbage is not a deal maker for me.. Nobody has talked about this at all.. I would guess that ps4 of xbox1 would have it... Maybe??
