BTW, Sony lamps are freaking amazing. I've put around 1800 hours on my 50es and it's still bright! JVC usually lasted me from 400-800 (I hate JVC **** lamps) hours and the Epson would dim at around 1400 hours.
Not sure if it is that Sony lamps are amazing, or just that the older JVC lamps kind of suck.
Heck, I've got a Viewsonic with 4000 hours on the lamp and the thing is still putting out around 450 lumens in ECO best mode, haha.
I've got a v3 JVC lamp with ONLY 380 hours on the lamp putting out around 350 lumens in ECO best mode with the IRIS fully open (ugh, it dimmed massively at 250 hours!)...
I will soon be getting my second potential dose of mercury unless I change the lamp soon.
I've got a Benq w7000 here with 2500 hours putting out about 650 lumens in ECO best mode.
My Friend's Epson 5010 has 2800 hours on the lamp now and is putting out about 180 lumens in ECO best mode, though to be fair it only started at about 500 on his particular mounting position.
I had a Sanyo z5 with 6200 hours on the lamp, though it was only doing about 80 lumens in best mode, maybe 300 in near-brightest mode.
