There is only one test from Asia for the HD91. It measured about 550 Lumens for the Optoma (calibrated). So the Acer K750, Viewsonic Pro9000, LG PF80G and Optoma HD91 are all at about the same level of brightness(540-600 Lumens). That's equal to19 FL on a Gain 1 screen with 100" diagonal or ~16 FL on a 110" screen. That's more than sufficient for a darkened room.
There are not many projectors with Laser-, Hybrid- or LED technology that are brighter.
The LG Hecto has calibrated about 2000 Lumens on its Black Screen (included)
The calibrated Sony VPL-FHZ55 ~1000 Lumens in Eco mode, it's noisy and only has a contrast of ~1400:1
Or take a look at projectors made for presentations. They are 1280x800 projectors.
The LG SA560, 2500 Lumens, Ultra short throw, no zoom. Laser
Casio Hybrid Projectors, 2500-4000 Lumens, 1,5 -2x Zoom. A bit noisy and lots of RBE. Laser/Red-LED
Saw both the LG and a Casio in action. Blacks, contrasts and colours aren't too bad, but the projectors were not calibrated and we have a dark grey screen in our office, so it's hard to say anything about their suitability for home cinema use.
