How do I put up a ceiling with pipes along the joists

I've attached a photo of the problem area.
Total area is about 9ft by 8ft

I'd like it to be soundproofed - i.e. decoupled with drywall+Green Glue+drywall attached

I'm thinking of putting a soundproof box around the main support beam and big pipe shown.
For the rest of the area - I'm thinking of putting whisper clips and hat channels to attach the DW to. It should drop below the pipes (none of which seem hot to the touch)

Waddaya think?

You need a "dropped" or "suspended" ceiling. Home Depot / Lowe's has everything you need.

You put up the walls and ceiling using clips and channel. Use 5/8 OSB for your first layer followed by Green Glue and 5/8 drywall get it as close as you can to the pipes without touching.
Then you hang a soffit of two layers of material and green glue off of the isolated walls and ceiling. If you need mid span support drop down supports attached to the joists with IB3 clips.

Been there, done that, it works.

DM while a drop ceiling may look OK, it won't soundproof the space.

thanks - I got the idea, but not following the details exactly
I was planning to put clips + channel alongside the pipe (close as possible w/o touching) then attach a 2x4 to that and hang plywood+GG+DW to the 2x4. Pipe and bean go down about 10" from joists, so these would be 11" tall
repeat on other side of pipe/beam
then below the 11" vertically hanging OSB+GG+DW attach 2x2's on the inside/bottom - and then attach a OSB+GG+DW horizontally (i.e parallel to the floor) to these 2x2's

It sounds like you may be saying something different, let me know so that I can understand better.
also do I need to leave room for insulation inside of this enclosure I'm creating?

thx!
