Romo is out.

They dont have to disclose anything until the practice report tomorrow night.

We dont go by what teams say anyways like when andy reid said:
- he wont be signing michael vick
- he wont be trading donovan mcnabb
- he wont be eating that 2nd bagel

Haven't we already seen the epic Romo chokes away the season and playoffs before, several times?

They said he got an Epidural and they'll have to wait to see if it works.

I’m a runner, and when I received my epidural (S1-L5) I was told not to lift anything heavy and forget about running (at least until I finished the sessions – around 2 months) – running could lead to surgery. Relief, if any, takes several days and up to a week. Of course I’m not being paid millions, not trying to save a coaches job or shooting for a playoff spot, but that is one huge risk if he plays. I still think its gamesmanship; because Dallas will need every advantage they can get to win that game. The Eagles are currently a 7-point favorite.

Epidural did nothing for me but disrupt my sleep patterns for a month(L5-T12), RFA did the trick... Romo probably will be better off not to try & play.

I agree, why risk it when a healthy Orton is probably better than a hobbled Romo.

In professional football it all starts at the top. When you have an owner that thinks he's a football guy the organization is doomed. The cowboys will not win Sunday with or without Romo. Eagles are the better organization. The best teams in the NFL have an owner that hires the best football guys and doesn't get involved with anything else but funding it.
The only reason the cowboys won super bowls, Jimmy Johnson was controlling it a football guy.

Jerry Jones is a legend (in his own mind) . . . smile.gif

You know, they have cures for that now. Aversion therapy, electro-shock treatments, involuntary commitment, methadone, etc. Save yourself while there's still time. Your knees & ankles will thank you when you're older.

Also won a super bowl 2 years even after jimmy was toasted with switzer.

waiting for the inevitable "but it was with jimmy players" response.

It largely was. Except for Deion Sanders and Larry Allen. 1995 (the infamous "backup draft") also started a string of terrible drafts by ole JJ.

right on...........except i don't agree that the eagles will win THIS game just because they're the better organization. romo is out and the cowboys defense is terrible so the eagles should be favored. but the eagles ain't that great either. everyone is looking at their big win over the bears...yeah well, what about two weeks ago when they lost to minnesota giving up 48 points? and how have the eagles done on the road? they beat the giants, tampa, oakland and green bay (with tolzien at qb). big whoop. this is basically a playoff game. how much playoff experience does foles have? nada. orton isn't great...heck, he's a backup. but he's been a starter in this league and can be very capable. and he still has dez, witten and terrence williams to throw it to....and murray to hand off to. so, not so fast my friend! smile.gif

NFCE is SO irrelevant to the SuperBowl

Folks thought the same thing the last year the Giants won. The playoffs are a different animal.

If both networks are DH this week, why do some cities have no early or late game? I thought those rules didn't apply.

In TV markets with an NFL team, the networks aren't allowed to show a game when the home team is playing on the other channel, assuming the game is sold out. Silly NFL blackout rule.

Looking at the coverage maps, I can't tell if I'm getting hosed or not. These matchups look terrible, but it's not like there are very many good choices.

Probably a good weekend to have redzone channel, but alas I will have to make do.

Adam Schefter on ESPN had it first, and had it right, before J. Garrett's Live Presser, as he tried to deflect. Then NFL Ch. [as usual] had nothing new.

Did NFL jump the gun by having Phil/Dal game Sunday night, rather than GB/CHI?

No that would have been NBC since it's their call.
The nfl still has final say on what game is chosen.

Also the decision had to be in monday & rogers wasnt cleared yet then either.
Here in Savannah, GA we have bad match-ups all day on both networks. Since we're a secondary market for Jax, we get that meaningless game, and Atlanta, and we also get TB/ NO which I could care less about, and NE/BUF. None of these have any of the playoff implications which the MIA, CIN, or GB games do. This regional / local division match-ups need to go. The cable providers (Comcast for me) better make RedZone free this weekend.
NE/BUF has playoff seed implications. Not that Denvah is gonna lose Sunday.
It's not the playoffs, not the time to make an early exit.

NBC can make requests (no doubt they did on Sunday), but the final decision rests with the NFL.

Interesting. Even thought the Raiders game is at home on CBS, at the same time our FOX station will be showing the 49ers @ Cardinals. I don't think I've ever seen that before.
This is really poor scheduling with these games on Sunday on CBS. Why are they showing BUF/NE as the late game in NY? BUF is out, and NE already has a playoff berth.
Also since the NYJ/MIA game is at 1PM, SD could be out of playoff contention by their 4:25PM kickoff.
They should have moved the NYJ/MIA game to 4:25PM since so many other teams are depending on Miami to lose.

The NYG/WSH game will get horrible ratings. So will the Jets game. It's a good Sunday to watch NFL Redzone.
