Is my Panasonic E80H dead?

I was dubbing from the HD to a disc and it stopped dubbing. Tried to redo and got error message and then a screen telling me to format the HDD and that I would lose material on it. Tried to format the HDD and it failed. Now none of the regular functions work. Do I simply toss the machine or can it be fixed?

PM user Mickinct and describe your problem in detail. He fixes Panasonic recorders and can give you repair estimates. Then you can decide if it is worth fixing such an old DVD recorder or just trashing it for something new.

Sounds like what happened to me here or here. Solution was to replace the hard drive.
