The Sanyo is an LCD projector, the Optoma HD20 is a DLP projector. The Optoma was introduced in 2009 and is now out of production.
With the new projectors that have recently come on the market I would take the money and apply it toward a newer projector model.
If you take that option your job now becomes to research the other projectors here by reading through some of the threads on these new projectors.
