What happened to the "URL link" button on the composition toolbar?

There used to be a button on the toolbar which would "wrap" selected text with the start/stop URL link controls, so that you could turn any selected text into an active "link" for someone to click on which would then automatically take them there.

I do not see that URL button any longer.

What happened to it? Can I get it back through some setting?

If you removed it permanently, WHY?? It was infinitely useful and worthwhile.

Well, that's bizarre.

I started a new thread in "HDTV Programming" earlier today and I swear that button was NOT present in my composition window. And yet, sure enough that button is there now.

Now I also do recall that this afternoon there was also no "right column" (entitled "Topics Discussed") on the screen, as there is now. Rather, the composition area occupied the full width of my browser window. Right now the composition area is narrower, with that extra "Topics Discussed" column (which I have no interest in or desire for) visible on the right.

And honestly, the "Link" button was NOT present this afternoon, but it IS present now... exactly where I'd always expected it to be, although it definitely had disappeared this afternoon. Else why would I have posted this thread???

Oh well.

Thanks.

I didn't see that, but I am still seeing javascript loading screwiness which causes odd behavior.

I normally see it on a forum view: the hover popups don't work and "Mark all read" brings up a new screen rather than a popup.

The only time I've seen it within a thread was when noticing the Multiquote buttons were missing.

In all of the above cases, reloading the page fixes it.

I use nothing but Firefox, but it happens on both Linux and Windows XP. I thought it might be a bug in NoScript, which I have set to allow yahooapi, but it also happens on a machine where NoScript is not installed.
