Do you know A/V? Do you love AVS Forum? Are you persnickety about the details? If so, we want you to consider joining AVS Forum as a member of our new official AVS Tag Team.
You may have noticed that AVS Forum is a large site full of fantastic information. The discussions here are organized into different forums. But sometimes the forum list doesn't provide specific enough navigation. For example, you can browse the LCD Flat Panel Displays forum, but how can you find all the conversations about the Samsung UN46ES8000 LED HDTV, specifically? Or let's say you'd like to find everything on the site about about the brand "Onkyo."
There are no forums you can go straight to for those topics, exactly. And search turns up too many results. This is where tagging comes into play.
Tagging is a feature on AVS that allows us to organize discussions, across all the forums, around shared topics. Want to find all the discussions about the UN46ES8000, including the official owners thread and any head-to-head "vs." threads that have been created? Well, if all of those threads have been tagged with the UN46ES8000 product tag, you're in luck!
But too often, great discussion threads on AVS don't take advantage of the tagging system.
That's why we need you. We're putting together a team of elite A/V minds who can selectively apply the right subject tags to take the organization of AVS Forum content to the next level. This isn't an easy task, but it's an important one, so we're reaching out to the community to engage your help.
- Tagging helps people find AVS: Creating links between discussions on similar subjects raises our SEO profile in Google search results.
- Tagging improves the community: It helps valuable threads be seen by people who care about them. It helps newbies find what they need so they don't start unnecessary threads.
- Tagging rewards you: The whole purpose of the Tag Team is to reward members who tag productively. Tagging takes work and we want you to feel how much it's appreciated. Learn more about the rewards.
If you're interested in becoming a part of the AVS Tag Team and contributing to the future of AVS Forum, read more about how the tag team works here. Then simply post here to express your interest, or contact me, Scott Wilkinson, over PM for more information about how to sign up.
Together, we will do great things! I eagerly look forward to your responses.
