remote av location help

The foundation for our new home gets poured this week. Before I know it will be be time to run all of my network, security, and any A/V wire.

The way our living was designed there is pretty much only one place for the TV, about the fire place.

Ideally I would like to have all the A/V equipment in another area that feeds the wall plates behind the TV.

I think the only option I have is to use some space in our closet under the stairs, approximately 30 feet away from the TV. I will also be mounting four in-ceiling speakers and possibly in in-wall sub.

  • What and how many types of cable should I run
  • Will I run into any distance limitations on the various types of cable needed
  • What have you guys used for wall plates (do you have any pictures)
  • Will I need to vent the closet area.

Is there anything else I am forgetting or should plan for?

Thanks,
Mike
