Benq w710st DLP, any user experiences or opinions please ?

Hi,

Im considering buying the Benq w710st (short throw).

Anybody here owns this and can tell me how it performs in relation to rainbow effect, and i read some rare reviews where it says the w710st has the right side of the screen dimmer than the left side. Is this true and because its short throw, does it create arches on the side edges of the screen (even though the pj is flat on the table without using the angling arm pin to raise the pj etc) ?

I was originally leaning towards the Benq mw519, but am now considering this if it can give better video (by lesser rainbow effect).

Your opinions will be very helpful.

I had it for a while and it was great for 2D but I had issues with 3D settings. You can read more details here:

https://forums.geforce.com/default/topic/569664/3d-vision/currently-what-is-the-best-3d-monitor-available-in-the-market-/4/

I am not sensitive to rainbow effect so I did not notice any. I had no left/right brightness issue. Unfortunately I had to return it because I needed it mostly for 3D games. I case you can spend more, I would highly recommend Benq W1070 or Benq W1080ST.

Hi Arun,

Im not going to use it for 3d ever. I hate 3d and never intend to try it, I want good color and brightness without rainbows for 2d hd video clips.

Does the screen arch or bow at the sides due to the short throw or your able to get perfect rectangular projection please ?

Thanks
