Good friends, as he says the title, I am trying to know if the plate of video Geforce gtx 680 allows to extract audio 5.1 in the games? Or I have to install an audio plate that codifies the audio cost the redundancy. Since I have my PC installed to a LED LG across HDMI and this one to a Home for optical cable, and I could have listened to the movies in 5.1. But the games not. Because of it my consultation, is it necessary if or if an audio plate that it codifies? Or does this plate of video already come with the necessary technology? Because I have seen that the plates of video old tenian a coneccion SPdiff with the audio plate that this does not have it, because of it my doubt.

Forgive my Englishman is very bad, I use translator.

Good from already thank you, and if they know some way of solving this topic of the audio he would be grateful for them, regards! (:

Yes the gtx 680 can do 5.1 however you must have an av receiver that has hdmi inputs.
The reason you can't do 5.1 gaming via hdmi to a tv then to a receiver via optical is pc games send 5.1 losslessly and optical only supports 2 channel lossless.

Hopefully this makes sense after translating back to whatever you speak.

Clear, at the time the problem serious that this connected to the TV, already I understand me parecia that it was it. And I add an audio plate as the image and I her connect for optical cable to the Home Theather can manage to have 5.1?

Thank you for answering

The only way to get 5.1 channel audio over optical cable is if its encoded as Dolby Digital or DTS. PC games will output multichannel sound as uncompressed PCM. If you want 5.1 ch Dolby or DTS from games you need a sound card that supports DDLive or DTS Connect.
