If you were to use a Blu Ray Player instead, you would get exactly the same results and save a lot of money. Probably not what you wanted to hear.

I didn't sleep in a Holiday Inn Express last night but I do have a SACD Standard so I guess that makes me a bit of an expert. With the Standard I've gone through two drives and need another at a replacement cost of $2K. I feel that Krell's always done a great job with electronics, I have a lot of their stuff, but they seem to trip over anything that's mechanical.

You might want to expand your search to include other manufacturers.

I'll second the Oppo. I have a 95. It's been flawless.

Also have to add the customer support is great, I have a 83SE which was 1 year out of warranty (the laser went) and they fixed, cleaned and upgraded it for the price of shipping ($26). Service was quick took about 10-12 days to get back.smile.gif

My Krell KAV-300cd (owned since 1997, employed extensively and lovingly, still my go to system for 2-channel audio with Audio Physic Virgos) did have an issue with the transport tray in 2007 or so. I happened to live near the company's Connecticut HQ at the time, brought it directly to them, and paid approximately $200 for the repair. No problems since.
