"The Best Of The Demo Discs Demo Disc" BD9/DVD-DL - Page 5

Finally at the point where this is going to be really useful.

I have a dune player and NAS box. Can I simply download this and put it in my movies folder on the nas box, then play it?
^^^

As far as I know the DUNE player is one of the few that plays Blu-ray folders BDMV with absolutely no problem.
You can play this and all the other demo discs as discs (with functional menus) from an external server or drive.

Took you long enough. ;)

Enjoy, and appreciate the fruits of your labor.

Thanks. Just finished the download so I will throw it on the Dune via Zappiti and check it out!

Thanks, Michael. Long road indeed. The PSA thing really set me back, which is OK because I ended up much happier with a DIY setup for the same price.

Then I had this aclove area in my room that took another huge chunk of time mostly with trial and error. And lately it's been finishing touches, more acoustical treatments, and bass EQ exploration.

Just scored an SVS EQ-1 so I'm going to finally fully tune the system. Was about to sell the Pioneer and get an XT32 sub EQ AVR, but don't have to now. Nice load off my chest. I've really gotten to know the Pioneer well and this point the last thing I want to do is learn another AVR. I just want to enjoy!!!.

Thanks to you and all the others who helped with this disc. Much appreciated by myself.

PS- does anyone know where I can get the THX intro demo? I found this page but don't see the intro demo- http://www.demo-world.eu/trailers/high-definition-trailers.php <--- enjoy those for whoever hasn't seen it.

It's there, under THX. It's called "Amazing Life."

Ahhh.. nice. On your demo disc too I see. smile.gif

But of course! ;)

(assuming, that is, that that is the THX demo intro you mean, but the others are there, too).

This disc is RETARDED

Nope.... not the THX demo I'm talking about, but that doesn't mean much! The one on this disc is simply awesome, as is the DD clip.

I just tonight got my system dialed for the first time since I've been building. All I can say is your demo disc is AWESOME!

Art of Flight, because I really like snow boarding/skiing is a favorite. (just ordered it!)

War of the worlds and a couple others tickle the clip lights. biggrin.gif

Who do I donate $$ to????

I will use this demo disc for years to come. It's very well put together and the proof is in the xmas tree topper that has fallen off our tree. biggrin.gif

All smiles. Or should I say ear to ear grins!

Thanks so much.

I'm especially tickled since I've been following your trials and tribulations, as you know, in the other threads. Glad you're finally up and running.

You do know about the other discs, right?

Since money can't exchange hands here for obvious reasons, just send a token of your appreciation to the charity of your choice. We'll all get warm and fuzzy feelings that way.

I can't thank you guys (superleo and LastButNotLeast) enough for all three demo discs!! Do you have a link to the high res cover for the jewel case? Thanks again for all the work and time you guys have put into these disks.

It's in the first post. Just right-click the image and download it (3173 x 1762 should be high res enough ;)).

Glad you're enjoying them.

Thanks so much for taking the time to make the disc. I copied it onto a blue ray disk and it worked fine on both my oppo 83 and PS3 (slim) no issues at all. One thing I noticed on both the ps3 and oppo was that the “F***** Irene” scene played as multichannel where as all the other tracks played as either Dolby hd or DTS hd master, but for some reason I have seen this on some of the other demo disks as well.

That would be correct. The lossless track for "Black Hawk Down" is indeed LPCM thus your receiver/processor showing mulitchannel audio. The secondary audio for the original disc is Dolby Digital.

We had only included the lossless audio track for the demo disc so you would only find LPCM for the "Irene" clip.

Awesome disc! Finally had the time to follow the directions and burn it to a Blu-ray Disc. My family enjoyed the disc plus now I have something to share with others when I want to show off my home theater. Thank you!

You're welcome and I'm glad you're enjoying it. However (not to dampen your enthusiasm ;)), you should have followed the directions and burned it to a DVD-DL disc and saved the BD for something else.

One of these, perhaps:

Yeah, I admit should have used a DVD-DL but at the time I didn't have any and had one blu-ray laying around. The whole thing was kind of done on a whim, and I was so excited to show it to my family I didn't want to wait until the next day to buy more blank media.
Anyone willing to burn these and ship them to me? I would gladly compensate you for your time. I do not have a burner
post #139 of 159
I used DVD-DL and there is a lot of freezing on my PS3. It is going in the trash can. The other 2 discs I use on external USB and they work great. Someone mentioned here on how to get this one to work on USB, so I will try that.

Cheers.

Don't throw out your PS3, trade it in.

:D

Yes, I know, you mean the disc.

;)

Does the disc work in a regular BDP?

no idea. If you read through this thread, other people are having freezing issues too. I only have PS3 for BD
post #142 of 159
^^^

These freezing or pausing issues are somewhat usual on certain BD-players when using BD9s, and unfortunately one of the offenders is the PS3. The best way on playing these discs (BD9s) on a PS3 is through an external drive. The disc is fully functional and you are sure not to have any issues.

Make sure you have them all:

(or at least the ones that are still being seeded).

Thank you so much for this demo disc...smile.gif

I have it loaded on to my WD external drive and playing it through the Oppo 103...

When I copy the video files from the STREAMS folder to a USB drive and I put it in my fat PS3, I can play the videos, but I get no audio at all. MY PS3 is set up properly, as any other video that I play on it produces sound.

Did anyone else have this problem?

I know it's probably of zero consolation, but everything works perfectly on my PS3. I found the instructions in post #81 of this thread to be very useful (as well as some of the interactions that lead up to ShirazNJ posting the summary in #81). [IIRC, I never had a "Streams" folder at any time in the process]

Keep persevering, it's definitely worth it!!

That worked perfectly. Thanks for pointing that out.

I gotta say, again, I love this disc. I listen to a few tracks over and over when I just want to rattle my brain or impress myself yet again. tongue.gif

For this disc, in order for it to play on the PS3, you just need to make sure your USB or external device is formated FAT32. Create a folder called AVCHD and just copy the BDMV and CERTIFICATE folder there. If I remember correctly I ran MultiAVCHD on the final disc output before LastButNotLeast posted it.

In other words, is ready tfor the PS3 as long as your external media is in the correct format.

If for whatever reason this way is not working, then I would suggest you run the BDMV folder through MultiAVCHD (agian).
