You must be reading-challenged if you didn't see the other posts from people who have heard some DACs and separates,
Since you're here, please explain how a subwoofer draws 75% of an AVR's power. Thanks.
I listened through a pair of AKG Q701's and they sound basically the same (blind test). Slightly different presentation like one amp having a slightly more "airy" sound than the other was barely noticeable. When listening normally I would have never noticed the difference.
Quite a few people at Head-Fi have done the same with the Objective combo and the Schiit M&M combo and haven't noticed a difference (although some may feel more comfortable with the Objective combo since it's backed by numbers but audio is a highly subjective thing).
Good points Bill. Unfortunately for Mud, in his rush to find some alleged contrary evidence wrt to DBTs, he chose to cite an article written by someone who doesn't have a clue. The second paragraph of the article demonstrates with amazing clarity that she has no idea what an ABX test is, nor how it is conducted and her third paragraph contradicts what she said in the second paragraph. In soccer, this is called a "monumental own goal" on Mud's part :) (IDK if you have own goals in American Football).
+1. I'm waiting too.
+1. C'mon NAIM101 - surely you are prepared to defend your statement after being challenged by so many?
LOL. The point is, there IS NO JUGGLING OF "THREE".
The point is one of the credibility of the person who made the claim. The same person is also making other claims, without supporting them with independent, reliable evidence. So it is quite reasonable to question his credibility. All he has to do is explain what he meant. Or, alternatively, say "I was talking codswallop and I apologise." Easy.
Mud, you're doing it again mate. With respect, when you are in a hole, stop digging. You keep demonstrating you don't understand the topic you are discussing.
Arny gave a very clear response to you on the last page - did you miss it?
