Help. I didn't run speaker wire before drywall ceiling....

Guys I'm really stuck with my basement remodel.

Avoiding the lashing I deserve for not having my contractor run wire through my joists before doing the celing what are my options?

I have looked everywhere and can't seem to confirm that I can get a bluetooth speaker set to work with a receiver that can push BT.

In addition, I'm not sure if I could use an Acoustimass system or Direct Reflecting speakers to get sound to "feel" like it was coming from the front if they are placed in the rear.

I'm happy to hear any suggestions!

Can you show us the layout and what the distances needed are?

There is such a thing as really thin speaker wire that is easier to hide. In general you can do vertical runs "after the fact", which leaves the basement, the attic, thin cable over the surface, and various moldings for hiding horizontal runs across studs or joists.

Various baseboard and crown molding designs are available which include cable runs. Another option would be color-coordinated cable moldings (raceways).

Thanks all - We may do Crown Molding so I could run it up there or on the baseboard I guess. Carpet is nearly deep enough to hid thinner wire.

I'll give it a shot because 2 of the worst speakers in the world and a small sub would sound better than my current options

Just went thru same exact thing, but baseboard molding wasn't installed yet, so contractor was easily able to run between floor and bottom of sheetrock to where I needed them, and fished them up to various wall locations where I needed them. If baseboard molding already installed perhaps you could pry off a piece to see if it would work for you; may need to shave off some drywall.

I've done crown molding for wiring surrounds. It works! ;-)
