Totem Tribe II vs. Definitive Technology Mythos XTR-60

I'm setting up a media room/office in my home. The room is about 16x12, and the viewing area will be about 12-14 feet from the screen. The TV will be something like a Sharp Aquos 80". The TV will be in a recess 9" deep, and I want wall-mounted LCR speakers that do not stick out beyond the recess. They will be powered by a Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver (I know it's old but I've had it for years and I love the sound it produces).

I first stumbled across the Def Tek speakers as something of good quality that fit my space constraints, but reviewing threads on here it sounds like the Totem speakers would be a huge step up for not much more money. For added punch I could opt for a Totem Tribe III center with IIs on the L and R. (for now I am using existing old surrounds and sub but may upgrade later.)

Any thoughts on this set-up? Anything else I should be looking at? For reference, my main living room set-up is a Denon 4308 receiver with B&W 683 LR speakers and B&W HTM mid, and I'm extremely happy with it.

I've heard both and IMHO the Totems are a step up from the Def Teks. smile.gif

I auditioned the Tribe IIs today and was not impressed. I'm having the installers come back next week with Tribe IIIs to try out.
