So there isn't any special cable you need for the Triax right? Just a regular cable that I use for the XV30F will work?

I have 2 25 foot Mediabridge subwoofer cables but gonna need a 35 footer to test all positions: http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B0041OOFE8#

You do not need a special cable.

Instead of buying another cable, you can buy a coupler to connect both 25ft cables together for placement testing.

At fifteen bucks? Go for the cable. I hate connections but on my part, that's a personal problem.

Just recently, I purchased a 25' Mediabridge' cable for subwoofer placement and if I needed a 35' cable for placement purposes, I would own one. Disclosure: i have a big box in the garage that's filled with cables, interconnects, spools of speaker wire and termination ends. Before I buy anything connective, I check the box.

You should get it from Monoprice. Site sponsor and the cables are very good quality. I am using a 6 footer on my Triax right. There are two types, I have the better of the two and they are the red ones.

Yep! I am using monoprice for all my cable, wires etc.. for my theater build. I was surprised how nice the sub cables are when I got them. I originally bought them for my amp, but I am using one of them for the Triax since I have the amp disconnected at the moment.

I wish I heard of mono price years ago when I ran 150 ft of Cat 5 cable to my sons room for Xbox live. I wanna say that I spent over a $100 bucks when I could have gotten it for mono price for under 20 bucks.

Come-on. Take one for the team. Place it on your tummy and let your sister pull you down the stairs by your feet. That way you can hold onto it with your hands. eek.gif...biggrin.gif

Thats actually a good idea because i was going to take pics of the drivers anyways so that would work! Well the remaining drivers are being shipped to PSA. The enclosures, amps, and everything else is already done so once the drivers get there theyll start shipping groups of Triaxs starting around wednesday and they will be shipping all of august and september in groups daily. Im on the first daily group so mine might ship out wednesday if everything goes as planned.

I find it funny that I am finding stuff all over the house on the ground and I am not talk just the living room, I mean everywhere. I mean stuff all the way back in other rooms. Make sure everything is secure.

Dude thats awesome! 2 triaxs is tempting, seems to be a winning pair! I have 1 really good spot in my room that seems to amplify strong output but the rest of my room doesnt seem to have anything worth spending on a second matching sub although stacking 2 triaxs on the strong location is still a possibility for me. Have you tried just powering 1 triax verse 2 to see how much difference you can feel and hear or measure? Id be real interested in your findings to help give me an idea of how much worth getting a dual Triax verse single because if i really like the one I get ill be very curious. Man thats awesome that the low freq waves are rearranging the house for you, what a good gesture from PSA! biggrin.gif
post #1254 of 3312
Side note, I think that with 1 or 2 subs my room can get awesome output but the downside is that I have a feeling that I might need 4 subs spaced in such a way to get rid of all the nulls and for smoothing out peaks and dips. Its just the size and design I believe and since its not a dedicated HT room and im just renting i might just work with my strong placement point and get a good, strong output where itll be enough for movies and music to perform intense and of good quality and skip fighting the overall room smoothing. I want to focus on the listening area measurements and go for something more even all around the room once i have a better designed room to work with.

I'd also like to know what your impressions are with just 1 sub running vs both. I am waiting on my 2nd. Black I am super excited for you to get yours, it's been a long process.

Tell me about it! This is like waiting for Christmas but a bit longer eek.gif I was checking out Audigon the other day and it was full of high dollar items, most of which I've never heard of. I looked at the sub section and noticed that there were too many subs to count that are way above the base Triax price and they don't even look like they'd come close to the Triax. I'm sure many have good quality performance but man $8,000 for a measly 700watt powered sub? Off course the list went on. I saw that JL Audio has a beast, the Gotham. I like them for car audio but there HT powered sub has 2-13in drivers and is priced at $13,000! That's more than 4 Triaxs! If you look dollar for dollar there's no way even 1 of those would beat out a Triax let alone 4 Triaxs! PSA def made a good deal on this sub and I've trusted them enough to upgrade a lot of my equipment for this Triax and I'm glad it's turning out promising!

I bought almost everything for my HT from Monoprice as well, super good deals on stuff that is essential for the HT. Faceplates, Gangplates, wires, cables, keystone jacks, its ALL there for cheap.

I too have a giant Tote full of wires and crap that has accumulated over the years, isnt it funny how the Knot-Gnomes find their way in to it and make a giant tangled mess out of it after you strategically arrange everything in it (by throwing it in from 10 feet away) tongue.gif

Congrats on the soon arriving sub Blackmamba, make sure the stairs can handle the weight of the sub and a couple dudes on it, 2 of my friends and I were moving a safe years ago, and the dolly went right thru one of the stairs, and pulled 2 of us down the stairs with it lol

I've carefully arranged the wires as if they were a loved but gone canary and no matter how careful, they still tangle. Grrrrrrr! tongue.gif

I think the Knot-Gnomes are closely related to the Sock-Gnomes, the ones who steal your socks out of the dryer....
