Take the old numbers and add them together and divide by 2. 116.4 + 127.5= 243.9/2 = 121.95db 20-63hz.
The point is the new drivers are showing about a 3-3.5db increase.
I agree its not an exact measurement but its enough to get close. The folks that pre ordered a Triax are getting a nice increase in performance with no extra cost.
The stated 3-3.5db average increase from 20-63hz doesn't really tell us how much increase there is in the ULB (20-31.5hz). It very well could be that the majority of the gain is in the higher frequencies with no gain at the bottom end.
Mainly just out of curiosity, I'd like to the numbers in the same terms used on the PSA website; ULB 20-31.5hz, and LB 40-63hz. I think that would give a clearer idea were the gains were made.
