Trust me I am a huge fan of Jim & Tom and the Triax. But try to go tell someone that a Triax will have more output then a Sub2 or even a SubM HP and see what kind of response you get.
For example, next time you're in a thread other then the PSA or Triax thread and someone brings up wanting a sub like the Triax or SubM or any of the higher end subs, try referring to the output numbers right from the PSA webpage. Usually the very first thing they will say in response is "I want to see some third party measurements before I really believe those numbers"
Its sad but true.
The playing field has shifted somewhat as it relates to third party measurements(except for SVS who have no problem submitting their subs for reviews) and so has my opinions.
I don't recall third party testing for the Submersive or the Captivators. They have been around for a while. I would agree if the Triax had been around for as long as those subs.
We need/want PSA to succeed. They were awesome eating the added costs of upgraded drivers to get the product to consumers. If these consumers can attest to the performance then it should be ok as it is for the Submersive.
In the event that consumers decide that they want to submit their sub to Josh for testing I think that should be ok with PSA, if this is still Capitalism. However, I wouldn't submit a sample until after a year on the market if I were PSA.
It used to be that professional reviews were the end all be all. However, so many folks here are so knowledgeable now that such reviews bear as much weight as their personal opinions.
Bottomline, I would love to see PSA offer a Triax to Josh for testing. However, I wouldn't feel any less about them if they didn't. I am not sure it is in their business interest if the feedback from knowledgeable folks are overwhelmingly positive. Just my subjective irrational 2 cents.
