When I had my Zt60 calibrated the calibrator said that the darbee has no effect on the calibration for grayscale, gamma,WB,color etc. The only time you will see effects on the PQ is when you boost the darbee past 40% (slight artifacts possible), but then again it depends on the display if you see any artifacts. The calibrator and I played around with all the darbee settings to see if there were any affects on the test patterns and there was not any up to about 40%, above that very, very slight effect on some of the vertical white line test pattern during sharpness tests. All my 103D pictures settings are at "0".

Well boys and girls will be connecting my 103D today... kill some pre-super time. Long time Oppo guy (going back to the 971) looking forward to the new player hooking it up to my ZT60 smile.gif
And also have to add much appreciation to this more "Proper Thread" with the FAQ etc in post 1. Kudos to Neuromancer and gang.
Sure I will have questions.

Many thanks for the replies. The Darbee processor outputs from HDMI out 1 and the blu-ray outputs from HDMI out 2?
Question......just wondering. ...can the 103d darbee work on feed from bright house cable box????
Can it have the same effect on feeds from cable...

HDMI Input 1 on the back is processed by Darbee and outputs thru HDMI output 1? Therefore, my cable box would be connected to HDMI input 1 and output HDMI 1? So I'm thinking that the blu-ray would not need any processing and would be output thru HDMI 2? Or can both cable box and blu-ray be processed by Darbee and be output thru HDMI 1 since they cannot run simultaneously?

Darbee is available (and optional) on HDMI1 output. It doesn't matter what the video source is: Blu-ray, HDMI input or other.

HDMI1 input is not linked to HDMI1 output, or HDMI2 input linked to HDMI2 output. Any input is available on any output.

We know that the blu-ray also benifits from the Darbee - A question but why aren't you using the player in the Oppo?

Does anyone here have the HEX code for the Darbee button on the 103-D?

YES - same effect on cable - Run cable box into HDMI In - Run HDMI out from HDMI OUT1 (on rear panel) to AVR

So, do I have the ability to switch Darbee processing between blu-ray and input 1?

You switch it on and off for HDMI1 output. It has nothing to do with any input.

I just looked and it is not listed on the excel sheet.

Here it is:

command set #1:

I want to use the 103D to process all the AVRs video out to the TV

I am having trouble getting the Bell Sat Box (AR 9242) to connect through the 103D to the AVR (Yam RX-Z11 set on HDMI pass through) then to the TV

All inputs including 103D connecting through AVR HDMI out to TV (Samsung PN60F8500) input HDMI 1 - works fine

103D by itself to TV HDMI 1 works fine (no sound as TV speakers muted)

The Sat Box to 103D input then to 103D HDMI 1 output - no go at all

At 1 point (hooking up) whatever - I got a screen asking for a ARC connection - which always fails.
I do not want or need the ARC from TV to AVR - nor 3D

Any suggestions?

Is there something in the 103D I have to set up or enable for the INPUT HDMI ??

Have you tried dual output (HDMI 1 video to display and HDMI 2 audio to the AVR? Your current problem doesn't make sense to me (all you should have to do is "select" HDMI 1 input rear); but the dual output may be a work around.

The latest public 103D beta fixed my HDMI connection problems. My TV would blank screen as soon as I attached the AVR to HDMI IN on the 103D.

Maybe worth a try.

I will do the FW update & see if it works with only 1 HDMI out if no then I'll try 2 outs - but where would HDMI 2 out go to as AVR selects only 1 HDMI in as does TV ??
Then probably call OPPO!! redface.gif
& yeah it doesn't make sense to me either - WTF mad.gifconfused.gif

Do these software/hardware geeks even own any decent PCs or HT gear or do their lives totally revolve around only iphones & smartphones & handheld consoles, maybe only D&D
Seriously, 20 years on forums for PCs & HT - only ever saw a small handful of these dudes on them...

Tx a million guys - I really appreciate it smile.gif

Doug,

/edit: reading your initial post, I may have misunderstood your question, sorry. rlb is right querying what it is you are trying to do.

Split A/V is exactly that - HDMI 1 goes to your TV for picture and HDMI 2 goes to the AVR and does the HDMI audio ONLY.

If I understand the question, HDMI 2 (audio) becomes your one and only HDMI to AVR for TV; because the HDMI 1 (video) is going directly to the TV. You could just run HDMI 2 to the same AVR HDMI input currently used for HDMI 1 and HDMI 1 could run to the same TV HDMI input currently used by the AVR HDMI output.

If you do the cable change, you must reflect it in the dual output section of the 103D setup. I use this for the OPPO 103D; but run all my other components through my pre processor.

I use split a/v, with hdmi2 going to the avr and hdmi 1 to my projector directly.

Now when the projector is off the oppo will still send video out on HDMI2 so I can still use it on my tv, granted I don't get the darbee effect on the tv this way.

And since this didn't negate the minor HDMI sync issue in my avr i might as well just connect HDMI 1 to my avr, or try the analog outputs...

Yes.
I'm currently using mine, purely because I'm too lazy to run the cable :P
