"big" is an infinitely subjective term, but the idea was that in a typical home living room/theater, that there would be sig output below 22hz.

Again though, seeing 22hz and above is going to cover 99.8% of bass content in movies and music, they- and most people- are not going to lose much sleep over it, period.

Yup, this thing in my room would get to 18hz and below that would be mostly distortion so you would HP the rest. Their amp most likely does all that for you like other commercial products.

While the vast majority of music may not have significant content into the low 20's (and below) I suspect your assessment that a mere 2/10th's of 1% of movies doesn't either is pretty inaccurate. I'm more inclined to think the opposite. For sure no action movie produced in years doesn't have content that deep, in some instances into the single digits. Even most animated films today have very deep content.

People wanting ULF may not be the target market for this sub, which is fine, but for anyone to summarily dismiss the lowest octaves as superfluous in order to justify that position strikes me as an individual with an unrealistic view of what it takes to provide a true HT experience.

Don't think mastermaybe meant that as a hard number, Jim. More that the vast majority of movies lack significant content down there. Perhaps it depends just how you count movies. After all, a HT experience is not limited to action movies.

Agreed; action films are not the end-all-be-all (well, unless you're beastaudio tongue.gif). But start there, add some of the concert blu-rays, then throw in animated, horror, drama and the suspense genre's and the percentage of blu-ray's with sub-20Hz bass escalates pretty rapidly. 10K seems to be a lot for something unable to play ULF. That's just my opinion though.
