Best Buy is full of it. They are lying. I went trough the same thing. A check was written then when they put it through their verification it came back turned down, but not due to insufficient funds. They called and I was told to write two checks - I did - that was turned down. The people on the phone said break up the amount further so I wrote two smaller checks and the rest on a CC. That went through. (the next morning I found out the second two checks actually went through and the person from their check verification lied so over 20,000 went through! I had to fight for the proper amount to be refunded!) All this took over 2hrs ... AFTER STORE CLOSING. Anyway I was told to expect the TV by 9/13/13. I was also told to contact the store again at week's end for an update. I did, they said it was expected to arrive either by the 11th or 12th. It didn't. They said they didn't know when it would come in. I asked for a manager to get involved. They did. I was told that they TV will come into this part of the country through Virginia where there is a large Magnolia. It would have to be processed in that warehouse, then sent to that Magnolia, then sent to another warehouse closer to the store where I made the purchase, then sent to the store, then sent to me.
This would add an extra 2 weeks especially since I live in Staten Island NY (I purchased it in NY because it was only on display in NJ - the only place at the time in the tri-state area!). Of course this was all moot since it was actually on backorder and they didn't really have a date for it at all within the system. Meanwhile they had my money. I contacted corporate and after a week of yelling, and screaming they too said it was on backorder. I brought up when then does it say on your website "only available in stores", shouldn't it say, "pre-order now"? I said I would cancel my order and was told, by corporate that BB would be the only one carrying it. I knew this was an out right lie since Crutchfield had sold out after receiving it in August. When I said in passing I would cancel my order they told me it would take 30 days to receive a refund, that is for a check to sent from corporate due to the amount. After yell and threating them they finally said they would send me a check within 2 days - to which I demanded it be sent via FEDEX over night. When it was sent it was sent to the wrong address. I have never dealt with a more stupid, uncaring group of people in my life. I have since destroyed my Silver Rewards card and will never step inside another BB store again ... and there's one only 8 mins. away from me, yet I had to travel over an hour into another state to try and make this purchase originally!!!
I'm sorry you were put through the ringer as well. In the end I went through VE, dealt with Robert. The man was great, the service was wonderful. It was a pleasure.
