Media Streamer for the bedroom - BD .ISO

Is there any boxes that will support playing the BD / DVD .ISO with minimum standard DD/DTS and stereo mode? I'm looking for a couple cheap boxes for our bedroom and living room. Living room is stereo, and the bedroom is DD/DTS. Don't care about full menus, extra features. But I do care about forced subs, and full playback functionality. IE no problems with seamless branch etc......

I haven't been able to come up with anything, but maybe I missed it?

All my rips are full BD .ISO with the Anydvd speed menu.

none that are cheap, you have the popbox v8 at 99.99$ that meets all your needs but the seamless branching. is using clownbd out of the question to remove the branching?

Or an option would be find a used popcorn hour a200/210 as it had an unsupported bd stack so seamless branching will work but they are still around 180$ if you can fine one. Find a dune smart series but they are pretty $$$$. or I think the mede8er 500 would also work but its still like 169$

The mede8er 500 price is in the range for bedroom/family room entertainment.

In ripping all my flicks to full .ISO for the dedicated theater room I really don't want to have to rip again for the bedroom/family room. So ya, Clown BD is not a good option.

I don't need the full menu support on the extra boxes, but do need solid playback of the .ISO.

I'd love to hear more about the mede8er 500!

What about the Netgear 550? I just read it plays BD .ISO with full menu support flawlessly. Anyone back that up? Has new firmware changed it's functionality?

The 550 has been discontinued and has no further support. You should be able to buy one for less than $100. Some places were selling the for $50.

Geeze - if you happen to see one for that price let me know. I need a second. wink.gif

I would just buy a WD TV Live box. I use it and it plays BD ISO or BD MKV just fine over my network. They can be found for under $100.00

If a title has seamless branching it will only play the largest M2TS file though.
