New room help

Thread Starter

I am building a new house.....move in in December.

I have a 16' x 16' room, 9' ceilings, that will have 7-9 animal mounts hanging from the walls.

I want a digital music interface, and a nice 2 speaker setup.  I'm not "picky" and listen to all types of music.

I just want to be able to mix a drink, sit in my room, and have it sound very good.

Total package:  up to $2k.

Any suggestions....?

thank you

I would suggest going with the new Marantz PM6005 and the Vapor Breeze w/ RAAL tweeters or wait for the Ascend Sierra 2's which will also have RAAL tweeters. The advantage the Breeze will have over the Sierra 2's I am assuming will be multiple layers of real birch ply wood cabinet which will reduce resonance by 20%. I also dont think Sierra 2's will use any good crossovers.

Vapor Audio is the best bang for the buck right now.

I would not put any credibility in the above post. Naim is getting
Quite the rep as a new forum troll. Usually he recommends
Ascend speakers, but I see he is now pushing the speakers he
Says he owns.

Naim- how did you come up with the statement that the birch
Wood cabinet will reduce resonance by 20%?

Please explain .

It is in poor taste to offer bull advice to new members coming
Here looking for assistance.

Square rooms are problematic; search for solutions.

This is just one set of recommendations.

Also, if you could bust your budget a little and these are still available, this could be a great choice.
