Wouldn't an Oppo make a big difference?
Just seems like that'd be a small price for a 74k home theater setup!
From my research, I couldn't find anything that spoke to negative reviews or results when using Monoprice speaker cable over much higher priced options. If anything, it would seem the connectors may influence the quality more.
I actually only use the PS3 player for 3D movies; otherwise, all content is watched using the Dune Max player.
I chose this over the Oppo given it's extensive IP control capabilities which allowed it to integrate with the Cinemar control system and launch movies from the network.
Combined with the Darbee I think the picture is excellent although I've never compared it to an Oppo.
I also selected the Dune because it provides feedback on where the movie is at to the Cinemar control system which was critical for the movie poster.
In addition, it outputs both video and audio through all ports. This enabled me to push component video/analog audio into our whole house audio/video matrix switcher. So movies from the Dune can also be seen in any room in the home.
The HDMI feed then runs into the Denon and onto the Panasonic. I also run the Digital audio into the DBox controller at the same time which is required for the DBox to sync the movies.
Even if the Oppo had a few % better picture quality, the Dune accomplished all my objectives and then some. I've been extremely pleased with it.
