Just picked up the 3D version.
Regarding the Blu-Ray itself: there's a problem with my copy, and I'm hoping it's not an issue with the entire run.
During the opening fight sequence (Gipsy Danger vs. "Knifehead"), something is seriously off with the 3D encoding. I don't know if it's the convergence point, or a problem with left/right sorting or what, but the bulk of that scene is like watching through two misaligned telescopes. It's very hard to resolve a stereo image, and it feels almost "inside out". I'll leave the technical dissection to people more knowledgeable than myself, but suffice it to say there's a significant problem there. Watching it on a PS3, if that helps.
Happily, the remainder of the movie seems to be just fine. It's just disappointing that the problem would have to manifest throughout one of the major combat setpieces.
Has anyone else experienced this? I can't imagine it's just my disc, things generally don't work like that any more. If nobody else reports problems, I guess I'll try an exchange. Also wondering if I should post about this elsewhere, rather than burying it in a review thread.
(For the record, the film itself is incredible. Most fun movie I've seen in ages... if you have a sense of fun and aren't a stick-in-the-mud, this is a no-hesitation buy. Hands down, my favorite movie of the year.)
