Looks interesting. Could be a great choice for those looking for a non-DLP flash 3D projector for under $1500.

Does the Vivitek use Unishape and 144hz triple flash too?

This projector seems to be targeted at only the European market.

Warranty repair/service could get pricey with shipping costs if Benq USA refuses or is unable (not stocking parts, etc.) to service it.

Still you can buy international warranty for a couple of hundreds,if not for lees.
it's infocus,not benq.
if you buy from amazon OK,you still can return the defected items and they will pay for shipping.
I ,my self had once a defected viewsonic projector ,they sent me a prepaid shipping labels(that was(
http://www.jp-uk.co.uk/ ),not amazon.
so if you think you like it after reading reviews when they are out, then you may consider buying warranty as well.

807 euros shipped via UPS from computer universe in Germany to Minnesota. Once in stock there, I may go ahead and buy it. The downside is warranty return ... but a great "beamer" for the price. Notice how I threw in the German slang for projector. I have ordered high def. DVD's from Germany before, no issue.

I like "beamer" more than "projector"!
Sounds way cooler! Now laser projector is officially named "lazer beamer"!

And the answer is yes.
So the Vivitek is the same projector as the Infocus, but with a black chassis instead of white, correct?

Infocus sales told me to check back by 3rd week of November for US availability. Vivitek claims only 120 Hz flash while Infocus claims 144 Hz but I assume they both use the 4422 DMD driver as mentioned by Infocus.

Whoa, can you say 'light leakage'
Even with that, they claim 10000:1 contrast. I'd be tempted to place a shield a few inches in front of that if it mattered.
