First it was ony the home cinema projectors but now Mitsubishi is totally out of the projector business. The led laser hybrid models that I have discover at last ISE Show won't come out.

Did a google and can not confirm this as true. Only thing I can find is that they are no longer making rear projection TVs.. Till this is confirmed with multiple main stream sources, I would not believe it.

My question would be does advertising sell projectors to any significant degree?

Publish a good brochure, lend the projector out for reviews, and then there will be user reviews. Maybe an ad on a review site directing you to mail order hawker but I doubt ads by a manufacturer on a review site accomplish much except helping to pay for the site and possibly making the reviewer some money.

Mitsubishi Closes Projector Division

Mitsubishi announced today that it is terminating the manufacture and sale of digital projectors...

The company is committed to full maintenance and warranty support of all units currently installed. Projector inventory that is currently in the distribution channels will continue to be sold with full warranty support.

This is unfortunate news. Mitsubishi has been a premium designer and manufacturer of both LCD and DLP projectors for many years. We have had the opportunity to develop good friendships with some great people there. We are saddened at the news of their departure from the industry, and we wish everyone at Mitsubishi who is affected by this shutdown the best of luck in their next ventures.
