NFL on FOX. Nintendo Resolution.

Xfinity(comcast) in Southern New Jersey. It's been like this for years but I just don't get why. NFL games look horrible on fox. CBS, NBC look great. Even highlights from other games on the FOX feed look great but the actual game looks like crap.

It was even this way when the eagles were a prime time team every week.

Are they using hand me down cameras for the local broadcast or something? Wtf fox. You suck.

Might be worth your while to see if you can pick up your local FOX broadcasts w/ a cheap indoor antenna, www.tvfool.com, so you can do an A/B comparison to see if the affiliate is to blame or if it's on Comcasts end.

Some of their games have crappier resolution than other games. You really notice it when you bounce around on Sunday Ticket.

I don't know whats going on, but games on FOX look worse this year to me than in the past. A few of their games look very good, but many have pretty bad compression artifacts, especially around the players it seems. Its really not the 720p resolution IMO. The 1080i games don't truly have 1080 lines of detail once they're encoded to MPEG-2. Games on CBS still look better than FOX if I downscale it to 720p.

All FOX Sports broadcasts on FOX5 WNYW-DT NYC have real bad swimming grass effect compression artifacts. The wider the camera shot is the worse they appear.
