I am not sure of the best way to present this data, so I am going to post a lot of measurement graphs. I tested a normal phase speaker against a reverse phase speaker.
The mic stand is vertical so that I can extend it vertically without getting closer to the speaker.
The mic was always aimed at just below center of compression driver, slightly towards woofer.
Distance of tip of mic to speaker baffle: 54.5 inches
Speaker off ground 31 inches
Speaker top to ceiling 39 inches
Nearest Wall: 66.5 inches
My measurements have names of -11 or 3, that is the relative vertical distance from center of compression driver. Negative numbers are closer to the floor, 0 is the height of the CD.
11 inches below CD
8 inches below CD
5 inches below CD
2 inches below CD
1 inch above CD
4 inches above CD
7 inches above CD
12 inches above CD
This is what I think may be the best of the reverse against the best of the normal polarities
