I FEEL THAT IM AT THE CEILING AS FAR AS AMPLICATION FOR THE MONEY GOES.

Good because an $8000 amp sounds 0% better.

I just bought a UMC 200 and for the manual tweaker it's amazing, I've never liked the idea of a receiver automatically correcting for my room but with the UMC 200 when combined with REW you can easily correct for your room and verify with REW. After messing with it a bit I personally find I don't like any EQ except for the subwoofer though, I think room treatments are the way to go but the UMC 200 has a very nice parametric EQ which I haven't heard of at this price point. The big thing for me is that it allows you to use either a 2nd order or 4th order slope for your crossovers on the mains as well as subwoofer, I never realized what a difference this makes but it really helps blend your mains in with the sub without too much bass. Unless your mains are sealed with a -3db point around 80hz, a 2nd order high pass isn't a steep enough slope and you'll have a very noticeable bass bloat under 80hz. I'll never buy another receiver/processor without the option for 4th order slopes. It's also only 500 bucks right now, with a 5 year warranty so it was a no brainer for me.

Which one pulls more electricity to operate at full. umc-200, 1522k or pt-7030. I have the umc 200 and pioneer 1522k. I must admit the UMC-200 sounds superior. The one drawback. I am using pa-7-350 for front stage and surrounds in 7.2 setup and crown xls 2500 for 2 stereo integrity 18'' d4 @ 2 ohm. i have to use a rolls mb 15b to increase voltage coming fron umc-200. Please let me know if i am doing something wrong. Thought the umc-200 would supply enough amp out voltage to run both units. I am dissapointed to say the least.

Fairly unusual to need a boost box to drive amps from a pre/pro, especially considering the input sensitivity of the Crown is higher (lower number) than that of the Sherbourn amp.

My guess is you have some connection or gain structure issues.
