SC 170 Acoustical Caulk vs Green Glue

I think a lot of green glue, but i have a question about SC 170. Can you use it effectively between OSB and Drywall? Will it function similarly to green glue as a damper?

I was going to run both through an electron scanning microscope to see how they compare material wise. I'm going to do the same with putty pads and duct / electrical putty people recommend on here, to see if only the color is different on the putty.

there are published MSDS on line that list the components of each and they aren't even cousins. I've used the OSI product for sealing cracks and it performs about the same as the Green Glue Caulking product not the same as the Dampening product. After curing they have different coefficients of elasticity.

Thanks Jeff.

After it dried a bit, it felt stiffer. I do like it for sealing holes / cracks. It is a bit "tar" like though.

Thanks again for the info.
