This procedures probably is for all UHD TV 's.

You can try and tell us.

George, see my post in the other thread. I need to know more information on how you got them to play at the same time as the info you have given me does not help. Shots of what you are selecting in the MediaFlow program and how you labeling the files would be helpful. Thanks!

OK here the full instruction step by step:

Step 1

Open MEDIAFLOW with these settings:

Step 2

Input the QFHD movie:

Step 3
Make these changes:

Step 4

Push encode 4 files!

Step 5

After the encoding (the time depends from the power of your CPU) put the 4 files in a sub-folder in the root of a USB stick

Step 6

Rename the files

as:

UHD_demo_a_.mp4sub
UHD_demo_b_.mp4sub
UHD_demo_c_.mp4sub
UHD_demo_d_.mp4sub

by this sequel :

*_TL_*.* first top left then as UHD_demo_a_.mp4sub
*_BL_*.* second bottom left as UHD_demo_b_.mp4sub
*_TR_*.* thιrd top right as UHD_demo_c_.mp4sub
*_BR_*.* fourth bottom right as UHD_demo_a_.mp4sub

It works even in mp4 and mpg format!!!
It works even if the 4 HD 1080p files are not the same MB!!!
It works even from a portable HD!!!!!

Step 7

Put the USB stick or the portable HD in the USB of ONE CONNECT of F9000 (doesn' t matter in which of two port)
and from VIDEO section load the UHD_demo_a_.mp4sub

A VOILA !!!

Important PS

As i wrote before,

The only problem is that the program is unregistered and the each output file has their logo. The final view of the QFHD file has 4 logos.
By the way you can load each file alone and see quarter of film.
If you want to see the full QFHD file you load the UHD_demo_a_.mp4sub!!!

PS 2

As i wrote before,

You will see that i played the UHD demos (the format is QFHD) for SONY, LG and SAMSUNG on my f9000 without any problem.
And there are more.

There is a trick that SAMSUNG , SONY and probably all the others have made waiting for H.265(hevc) and HDMI 2.0 appear.

The QFHD format is 4 X HD 1080p

So they cut the 3840 x 2160 panel by 4 (1920 x 1080) and they put each HD 1080p part in the corner and they make the QFHD resolution (4k for commercial)
This mean that if you take a HD movie 1080p and copy the same movie 4 times and rename the four identical files like i wrote before you will see QFHD resolution (UHD) resolution by seeing the same movie the same time *4

I will write down more.

Now, i am looking for a different program to cut the QFHD file.

The write term for the present 4k or UHD SAMSUNG TV is SAMSUNG 4K UHDTV (2160p) TV .
All the others are for commercial.
The different is less than 3% but are not 4K native TVs.

PS 3

The QFHD resolution is Width : 3 840 pixels X Height : 2 160 pixels Display aspect ratio : 1.78:1 (16:9) Pixels : 8,294,400
The 4K resolution is Width : 4 096 pixels X Height : 2 160 pixels Display aspect ratio : 1.90:1 (256:135) Pixels : 8,847,360

Now I am trying with Pavtube Video Converter and After Effects CC and I think it will work!!!

The trick is to crop the 4K movie to 4 equal HD 1080p parts , rename them as I wrote before and put them in a USB stick in a sub - folder to the USB port.

Probably all the video programs that can handle 4K resolution and can crop the video file to 4 equal HD 1080p parts works!!!!!!!

Good morning

With Pavtube Video Converter step by step as i promise you :

Step 1

Load the 4K file 4 times to make the procedure in the same time.
(You can do the conversion one in a time)

BE CAREFUL , the resolution of the clip or the movie must be 3840X2160

Step 2

Choose the right format and the output folder.
Then press EDIT SELECTED TASK for each file

Step 3

Choose CROP select AND click to switch to advanced mode

Step 4

For the first file make these changes (1920x1080).

Step 5

Then press Go to settings section.

Step 6

In setting section make the changes you want (for audio and others to output smaller file) and then OK

Step 7

The same for file two

Step 8

The same for file three

Step 9

The same for file four

As you see and understand , each crop windows makes the file you need for F9000

So, using the logic of this procedure you can use any video editing program that can handle 4K resolution

Step 10

After these changes press CONVERT

Step 11

And wait the finish of conversion
(The time depend from the power of your CPU and the memory)

Step 12

At the end you have to rename the files as i wrote in previous post for SAMSUNG F9000

AND enjoy your SAMSUNG TV with 4K resolution

P.S. The row must be exactly the same:

TOP LEFT > BOTTOM LEFT > TOR RIGHT > BOTTOM RIGHT

P.S. 2 Again, sorry for my English.

Unfortunately no torrent available - if you want a faster download you have to register :-(

Hey guys, here's a magnet link to a torrent of the Samsung UHD Demo files. Enjoy!

Thanks Chris. Downloaded the torrent yesterday. First true 4K content I've been able to see on my Samsung.

FYI after dowoading drop each of the four sets of four vids into their own folder and the Samsung will recognize them fine.

Let me know if anyone finds a torrent for the 4k IMAX vids Samsung is sending out with UHD purchases. It's only valid for USA and I'm in Australia.

First you will need a bit torrent download program. You can get one from **********.com then just copy and paste that string of stuff into your URL bar. Hope that helps!

Thanks, seems this site blocks external links
post #25 of 46
I couldn't get the magnet link to work either but just whack "torrentz.eu" into Google then go to the site and search for "Samsung UHD Germany 4K" and you'll find plenty of torrents that work.

Thanks for your work on this George.

I was able to use Mediaflow to get this method to work. However, I have tried Pavtube many times and can not get the files to play properly.

I do exactly as your tutorial shows carefully starting with top left, bottom left, top right and bottom right. Output is set to HD H264. I work with 4 file copies at once and rename output files accordingly. One thing I note is the Mediaflow produces 4 equally sized files while Pavtube produces files of different sizes?

When I try and play these on the TV (F9000) I get a little splutter of music but the screen is blank.

I also notice my TV does not display the .mp4sub files although obviously uses them. It does display the .mp4 files for play.

I would purchase the Mediaflow s/w if it wasn't so expensive.

any thoughts / troubleshooting tips you can offer?

many thanks,

many thanks,

I was having the same problems and couldn't figure it out

I went back into pavtube to look closer at settings and i got mine to work by having the source and setting match up

Here is the standard settings for a HD H.264 in pavtube

Notice how some of the settings are different in the target column

Here i have changed as much as i can back to original settings

This seemed to make all the difference for me

Thanks for your reply.

Unfortunately I still have a problem - more specifically, the first quadrant - i.e. TL, the file with "_a_" - will not play on the TV. I've tried several files and with .mp4 / .s4ud extns but they will not play.

This is very strange as I can play these file on a PC fine within pavtube and using quicktime.

I can also play the other quadrants on the TV - i.e. _b_, _c_, _d_. I've used two different PCs with the same issue.

The only thing "different" about this first file is it is the first quadrant.I also tried creating this file by itself from original source (I normally create all 4 files at once) but to no avail.

Any thoughts anyone...?...I must be missing something simple yet subtle.

I also believe the US version of this S9 series - the UNXXF9000AF line up - can play native UHD files.

Are you using a sub folder on a usb to plug into the tv?

My files wouldn't work through my NAS

hello, I've also the same problems whit Pavtube, i try in each way, but it still don't work.
