Help picking out a sub please, complimenting Def Tech system

Hello all, new to the forum.

Currently deployed with no home theater or a house so let me try and give some helpful criteria to help me with subs....

Looking into piecing together a Definitive Technology home theater when I get back, incuding BP8060ST's in the front, SR8040's for surround, CS8040HD center channel, and I still haven't decided on an AV receiver but probably a nice Denon.

Budget is around $600, was planning on getting the deftech subwoofer (pro cinema 1000) but I've read that it may not go as low as I'd want or be powerful enough. Recently came across the Rythmik LV12R....it seems like it would fit my needs because I'm looking for an 'all around' sub. 60% movies/tv, 25% gaming, 15% music. I want a 10 or 12". I feel like, and correct me if I'm wrong because I know nothing about audio, the BP8060's have built in subs that are supposed to put out some decent bass, so I just need something to supplement that extra UMPH I'm looking for in explosions and what not. That should take care of any doubt that the sub I'm looking for needs to be more than $600 to 'fill' my room. I'm expecting to get a place with a medium sized living room, sitting about 10ft away.

Thank you for any suggestions or guidance!

For $600 the Rythmik is your best choice. The subs in the 8060s perform pretty well for what they are but drop off quickly below about 30hz. The LVR12 will hit around 18hz so it will fill in the bottom end nicely.

Although the SVS PB1000 for $500 is not to far off in performance. You can get to PB1000s for $949.

Once you get everything, experiment with how you want to run the towers, large plus the sub (double bass in some AVRs) or small with a crossover. It may take some time to get the best combination but should sound great once you're done.
