Official Panasonic TC-L65WT600 4k Owner's Thread - Page 9
Gear mentioned in this thread:
Anyone building/buying a new PC should wait a few weeks for the new nVidia 780ti video card. nVidia has better drivers and overall better support. AMD has really dropped off these last few years (I was a huge AMD fan).
The 780ti is supposed to be the best single GPU video card nVidia has released... we'll see.
P.S. Always try and build your own PC or have a friend do it for you. Once it's built and up and running you will have practically no issues. Just use quality parts. You're paying a HUGE premium to buy a PC from a company. Friends dont let friends buy built PC's.
I got mine in December.
No issues with the "bars" but issues with Display Port connectivity.
A replacement came a month later,
...still issues with DP.
...found that JIGGERING with the MST would get the set to recognize the PC.
anyone else have this problem?
Has anyone in this thread used Intel's (Haswell) HD4400, HD4600, or HD5000 graphics over DisplayPort to run this set? Mine has a fine vertical line down the center at 3840X2160, but is not seen with any other resolutions. 4096x2160 downscales (as well as trims) perfectly with no line, but setting the resolution to 3840x2160 consistently has the line. It seems to be the driver piecing the two 2160x1920 streams together and leaving a gap or something. I also run into an occasional display drop when I change resolutions and have to reboot the PC.
These issues are clearly not the displays fault, just something I'm troubleshooting. I must say this television is fantastic.
I got the TV a few weeks ago - I probably would have waited for the new models coming out in May but I didn't realize they would be out so soon. It's a pretty good TV - the only issue I have are the bars everyone is talking about. I really don't notice them while watching movies or gaming - just when using it as a monitor. I have it connected to a AMD R9 270x via the Displayport and Eyefinity automatically sets the desktop to 4K at 60Hz. Windows and games look great on it - like I said only downside are those bars - I'm a little annoyed as I bet the model coming out in May wont have them. They are not 'that' bad - but a TV this expensive shouldn't have that.
I have an OS X developer's account. I am going to install the beta OS X update tonight!
I bought the 4K Timescapes video and they sent it to me on a USB 3.0 thumb drive. It plays when I plug it into the USB 3.0 port on the side of my L65WT600, but it's very choppy at times and freezes consistently throughout.
Looking forward to playing the file from my retina MacBook pro computer out of my thunderbolt port into the HDMI 2.0 on the TV.
Updates to follow. Glad to finally be a part of this owners thread. I bought two of these 65" Panasonic 4K back when they came out about 6 months ago.
