Update: Turned out to be that the dvi ends created bad connections. A poor design choice.
After posting I had the thought that if I went to settings on the Hopper and changed the TV format from 1080p/1080i to 720p I might resolve the issue. . . Didn't work.
Once the projector has been turned off (along with the Vivix II) when it has been turned back on and Dish selected, the Hopper must be reset to restore images. Sound is fine but the screen is blank.
Having to reset the Hopper every time the system is turned on isn't a practical solution when you have others accessing the same unit for their viewing pleasure.
Unless there are any other ideas it would seem that my options are limited to:
1) Swapping out the Hopper for one of the Joeys and then figuring out how to program a reset or doing a manual reset.
2) Pulling out the rack and to disregard the HDMI connection and use the HD1, HD2 or the Componet Video input.
Hopefully there's a better way?
