"Almost Human" on FOX HD - Page 8

The first part of this episode was side splitting funny. The exchange in the car between the two of them was just priceless. Great lines!

Decent episode. Funny, The exchanged between the two partners at the start very funny. As the show progressed we got to see them mix in Sci-fi in with a murder trial. Focus on other characters, decent story , nice pace and a Petite Psychic smile.gif

Haven't seen this week's show but plan to do so tonight. Urban and Ealy are talented actors, both do comedy well, and they show good chemistry in their many scenes together.

Karl Urban was funny, "Is that all for one man"? LOL It was on as soon as he said "Ken doll"! The Captain got even at the end, and even got a compliment. biggrin.gif

Believe it or not, the wife said the exact same thing just seconds before Urban did.biggrin.gif

I really find Lilli Taylor to be a poor fit for this show.

I guess Soccer will still be around in 2045... I thought they were talking about baseball, maybe that's a thing of the past..

I think they're implying, maybe, that soccer has become a more major sport in the US than it is now. There's no reason to suspect that they were implying baseball is no longer a sport.

I enjoyed this week's episode. As others have said, the opening scenes with Urban and Ealy were very funny. Almost Human is growing on me it seems to be getting better as it goes along. Just hope that the trend continues.

Like you, I like Lilli Taylor. She is a fine actress and I want to see how her character gets fleshed out as we learn some of her backstory. It seems to me that there are a lot of directions the writers could go with Captain Maldonado that would allow Taylor's acting talent to shine. I agree, though, until this week, the Captain's role seemed like a poor fit. This week, though, I thought the scene in the jail in which Ethan Avery, the evil brilliant mastermind, got under her skin was very effective. Taylor did a nice job of showing us that Avery had upset her but had did it without making herself look too vulnerable. I also found very effective the Captain's final scenes with Avery when she told him that the eyewitness against him was alive, his team of clones destroyed, and he was going to be staying in jail forever.

Lilli Taylor does that sort of thing very well. Although she is a tiny, sweet-faced lady she is very effective when she lets her fangs come out. She was able to do the same sort of thing in her Six Feet Under performances, although she was much younger then.

Not surprised there aren't many comments on this week's episode -it was pretty average. They seemed to really push on the whole human angle of the people dying, but didn't quite get it.
Given that some of the shots were in the show's original teaser, it appears this is one of the early episodes that they shot - maybe FOX didn't think it was strong enough to air early? I don't support airing episodes out of order, but I guess that was their reasoning.
No new episodes until January.

Why not just remove the timer implants and not change their entire heart? oh well I guess they deserved brand new ones...

Thought the episode was boring. Only highlight was when the other android jumped out of the car, ran up, and leaped on that dude. Way to funny. Highlight of the show is still the interaction between the main characters, just top notch and always funny.
Since they lose so much androids lately I don't know why the captain was upset about losing another one, maybe she was referring to the drone that crashed into it? LOL

I was also a little confused as to why the captain was so angry when she saw the two DRN's talking to each other at the station. Her reaction just seemed out of place - like they cut a scene somewhere earlier in the show and forgot to trim this one too.

The duplicate didn't belong in the station.

I believe she was referring to the drone? There have been other androids destroyed, as a matter of fact the pilot episode when he dumps it out of the moving car.

I had wondered how it (he?) suddenly was an officer since it (he?) was apparently a lab employee and, as far as seen on screen, wasn't officially "rehired" by the police department.

Yeah, this wasn't explained well.

He was unauthorized. You just don't let anyone in a police station. She didn't approve and she's in charge.

There are witnesses and victims (and family members of such) in the station all the time - we've seen it in past episodes.
The other DRN was a) a former cop and b) involved in destruction of property - it's hard to believe that he couldn't have some reason to be there, and even if he'd overstayed his welcome, her reaction was still surprisingly strong.

But he wasn't "on the payroll", so he shouldn't have access to police files nor to police computers, even if he had a valid reason for being there.

?? He was just sitting there chatting with the other DRN. There was no evidence that he'd overstayed his welcome or that he'd been there for a week. There are any number of valid reasons for the other DRN to be there.

A valid reaction from the captain might have been "Hey Dorian, don't forget to take the other Dorian back to his regular job. He can't stay here."

Maybe she was personally involved in the old case. I was sort of surprised that he was kept active in a new job, rather than being left shut off after the incident.

Her expression/reaction said she was "thinking it."wink.gif

"You should donate..."
Pretty funny stuff there.

Yeah I enjoy the banter between the two but other than that there's no a lot of show here. Hope they start taking some risks with more serious sci-fi because they've done that with shows like Fringe, but it's looking more and more like a run of the mill buddy copy show with futuristic plots that have mostly been done before.

Butt just getting a weekly dose of Minka Kelly makes it all worthwhile.

Sure if you enjoy an empty, nice-looking waste of time. To each his/her own, but I want more than eye-candy. She basically adds nothing more than that to the show.
