Get $10 credit for every $50 spent on the PSN... time to pre-order PS4 digital titles

Starting now through midnight October 29th (the store will update earlier that day), every game / movie / music purchase or pre-order on Sony's network that totals $50 gives you back $10 in credit on November 8th. It's been confirmed that $49.99 purchases also work (i.e., two PS+ code purchases costs $99.98 but returns $20 in credit to you).

PS4 preorders are starting to become available. Perhaps all launch titles (including indie releases) will be up by the deal's deadline, but this is the list available for purchase so far:

- Killzone: SF
- Knack
- Assassin's Creed: BF
- Call of Duty: Ghosts
- Battlefield 4

I'll get Killzone by the deadline, and hopefully NBA 2K14 goes up by then. I'm pretty sure I'm going 100% digital this gen, if only to save on high taxes I pay as a citizen of the People's Republic of California. At least I don't live in Brazil.

I am happy they added AC4 and BF4 to the preorder in time. With the money I've already spent (around $35) that means that both games will only cost me $90!

Does the PSN have an online store for those of us who do not have a PS3 but will have a PS4 on 11/15?

EDIT: Nvm, yes you can... right here: store.sonyentertainmentnetwork.com They even have ads for the deal on the website. Now I've got some money to spend!

Can you order a ps4 through psn and receive $40 credit?
This offer actually started on Sept 24 when it was first posted in Sony's official blog, so anything you've purchased since then will be counted toward the total.

^^ Good to know, thanks.

Nope, only digital software (games, music, and movies) that you will download from the site onto your system.

Bought my first year of PS+ and pre-ordered the PS4 version of BF4. Thinking about getting Knack because it would be a game I could play in front of my kids but, I'm just not sure how long it would hold my interest to lay $60 on it now.

Now I just need a PS4 ...

stares at calendar.

I bought another year of Plus so thank goodness for stacking the subs. I imagine they will forgive the penny ($49.99).
I guess I have until the 29th to choose between Killzone and BF4.

Thanks for the heads up.

Did you get the credit??

Edit: never mind, I see that the credit doesn't go through till 11-8 and the opening post indicates 49.99 is valid.

Ooh this reminds me, I just forked over for BF premium so that's another $10 I get. Glad I clicked in and read this.
Hmm, BF4 now and put the $10 toward premium when it gets credited?

Or both now and $20 for something down the line?

What you guys say?

I'm saving my $30 credit for premium. Right now there are no other games I want.
The $10 from my BF4 PS3 purchase is for the $10 charge to roll up to PS4 digital. My additional $10 from premium is up in the air now.

To some of the questions about coming short on the $50, the Sony rep says in the comments section that a few pennies below will still be honored. They gave me my full credit the last time they had this promo despite being short, so don't worry.

This is cummulative right? So even if its off by a bit it all adds up?
Think I found what my extra ten spot will go on, Castle Storm looks pretty sweet!

I wasn't planning on getting COD this time around. Already have BF4 preordered in my bundle. Then I saw this and got a $5 Best Buy coupon. So I bought $60 PSN credit for $55, preordered COD for PS3, and will use the $10 for the PS4 version.

Not bad, both versions for $55. I know a lot of friends will be playing it.
Lol. Paying 55 bucks for a game that's not worth ten is definitely not a good deal.

Tomorrow evening (Tuesday) is your last chance to get $10 back for every $50 PS4 digital game pre-order, PS+ annual pass, and/or any PS3 / Vita / PSP / media purchases.

I think I've decided to get one more game before this deal ends but, I can't decide between KZ and Knack. KZ looks amazing graphically but, I've already bought one shooter. Knack looks like it could be fun and I could play it in front of the kids but, I'm just not sure how long it would hold my interest.

I ended up buying all of the Beatles rockband DLC and the Star Wars pinball tables. It's always easy to spend $$.

I have a inkling Knack will be one of those long term free PSPlus goodies Sony gives us eventually, like Uncharted. Might take 12-18 months, but I wouldn't be surprised to see it as a PSPlus offer.

I went with BF4 digital and will be picking up physical KZSF.
You may be right but I went ahead and bought KnacK. Need something I can play when the kids are awake and who knows, maybe they'll try and play it some but they are use to iPad games so using a controller is very foreign to them.

So, with my PS+ membership, BF4 and Knack pre-orders, I should get $30 credit back. Will probably use it towards some BF4 DLC.
I almost snagged Crash Bandicoot the other day but it was only on PS3 and not Vita. I'd have still picked it up but was like 39 cents short and too lazy to go get a card.

I really considered picking up KZ but I'm going to let Gamefly handle it, if I end up liking it I will buy it off them but I have a feeling I will play the SP and move on. My GF queue is empty save for PS4 titles and my last rental is in the mail.

Just another couple weeks...
Thanks OP for the heads up on this. I used it to buy PS+ 1 year, Killzone, BF4, and BF4 Premium. Expecting about $40 back come Nov. 8th : )

One thing that bothered me as a new PS4 user (I don't have a PS3 or Vita or anything else right now) is that when you add the PS+ subscription it starts immediately, rather than say give you a code you can redeem later. So my PS+ subscription started today Oct. 29, 2013 and will run until Oct. 29, 2014. Of course I won't get my hands on my PS4 until Nov. 15th so it means even though I got $10 back on it, I am really only getting 49/52 weeks of the 1 year subscription. I really wish they would have allowed you to activate the purchased subscription at launch, but oh well.

edit: so I went ahead and contacted SOE about it, just to ask (doesn't hurt to ask, right?) and yes they confirmed that's the way it is...too bad. : ( Oh well, it's still a discount:

$10/$50 for PS+ = 20% discount for 12 months

1/12 months (approximately) = 8.4% "wasted money"

20% - 8.4% = still a 11.6% discount on 1 year price of PS+

Yeah, I'm cheap haha.

Roll with premium. I believe it's only $50 and it'll net you all the DLC and some other perks. Probably the only "season pass" I've found worthwhile.
+1 for BF premium. Not only do you get map packs, but guns, vehicles, assignments, extra double XP days if your into that and early DLC access for what $25 less than buying all the DLC separately. It is easily the most worthwhile DLC season pass.

Same here, I sent my last two 360 games back last week. My top 2 in my Q are KZ and AC4.
