Best couch co-op games for PS4?

The mrs and I have been away from gaming for a long time (too long!) but now that our kids are old enough to game themselves we're getting a PS4.

I want to get 2-3 games on/around days one (at least in time for Christmas) that my wife and I can play together coop style. She loves FPS games but I'm not married to just those. We already have COD Ghosts on order.

Any suggestions are much appreciated.

TIA.

LittleBigPlanet 2
Guacamelee
Any Lego themed title

Those are my favorites co-ops, with my favorite experience being Guacamelee with my 10-year old daughter.

Those are all PS3 titles. I don't know if any of the PS4's launch titles feature couch co-op.

If couch co-op is your reason for getting a console, you might want to just get a PS3. They're cheap, and there are tons of great co-op games for it.

Knack has some simple co-op. Probably not what you're looking for but it could be fun.

Only available locally, Knack will support 2-player shared-screen play. Player 1 will be playing protagonist Knack as normal in the game's story while Player 2 will be playing a special silver version of Knack. Silver Knack is designed to support Knack in combat and by picking up parts (which allows both versions of Knack to grow). When Knack gets damaged, he will begin to shrink; however, Silver Knack can donate his parts to Knack to "heal" him.

Since the co-op mode was put in primarily to have family members help kids play the game, it should be relatively unsurprising that only Player 1 controls game progression. Co-op will fully support drop-in, drop-out as well, which is only fitting.

LEGO Marvel Superheroes has received very positive reviews on current gen consoles (IGN 9.0). I would get it if I was getting a PS4 at launch. Instead, I may end up getting it for the PS3.

My mistake on the PS3 suggstions. For the PS4, Trine 2: Complete Story is a title that should be better in co-op based on the earlier releases. Here's our new thread on the game.
