Si 24 next to Yorkville Unity 15 speaker. It dwarfs the 15'' woofer with ease.

My first thoughts on this driver is that it was much more manageable than I thought to move around. I was easily able to bring it and my custom box inside my home by myself. Though large the driver does not seem gargantuan with terrible overbearing size like I thought it would.

It seems like a ''normal big'' to me. Its not overbearing to a room in my opinion. But I am used to big equipment so nothing shocks me anymore. I believe this woofer is not past the point of no return in terms of WAF. Its a very handsome woofer that is not disgractingly huge in my opinion.

I really like the finish on the enclosure! I hope the box builder built in some tolerances for the woofer ID and OD so it fits properly. If so, I'd say everyone take note on who built the box and go from there. cool.gif The reason I say that is if people get the OD exactly right and then flush mount the driver they find out they can't remove the woofer from the enclosure without turning it upside down because you can't get any fingers/screw drivers/etc between the edge of the woofer and the flush portion. Is the box single sided all the way around, double sided, etc?

PS: The camera flash makes the surround look blue when it's actually grey, but you know that. smile.gif

The box is double sided all the way around. Not sure about the tolerances. I will find out when I install the driver. The box builder was pretty good with the tolerances for my Ftw 21s so Im praying this install goes smoothly as well.

Oh right! I forgot that my Note3 can do 120fps @ 720p and 60fps @ 1080p. I need to test that out. biggrin.gif

Dude... nice choice! I was actually looking at the Z Ultra all summer (lol and I have small hands). Loved the whole Xperia style. Truely the best looking phone on the market, imo. Although some little stuff got in the way and I went with the Note3. I'm pretty happy with it. smile.gif

Looking good Swolephile. I hope you really like these. I can't imagine a 24", the 21's you sold me make my LCRs which have a 15" look small. Btw I'm really enjoying the FTW21's. smile.gif

Not happy right now. I could not find the mounting screws for my driver. Home Depot did not have a suitable replacement. And my box builder included a weaksauce terminal cup with girly 14 gauge connectors. Ive contacted SI about about the mounting screws and I will order another terminal cup which accepts up to 8 gauge speaker wire tonight. I will also order two feet of 8 gauge wire tonight for the internal connectors. Looks like I wont be able to finish this install till next weekend.frown.gif

Sorry to read abiut the delay, can't wait to hear your impressions of this monster of a driver.
That's frustrating. Is sucks when the "little things" postpone everything like that - I'm sure this will be long week for you having to wait to fire it up.

Thanks. I will have everything ordered by Monday morning. So I hope to have driver installed by friday or sunday. I will admit I am a little nervous about what the overall combined weight of the driver and box will be. Im a pretty strong guy but the box is short and wide so it will be hard to get a grip on. I should have went with a taller more slender box no deeper than 20''.
