I remember on my Benq W1070 I had to rename 3D iSO or MKV files to ie Rocky.3DSBS for it to turn on 3D mode..... I am just wondering if you have to do the same with the Sony?

I have a HW50ES and a Sony 3D Blu ray Player. I put in the disc and it plays, never had an issue . Not sure what you are asking to be honest?? Are you running from a storage device maybe?

Sounds like a software player issue and completely unrelated to the display unit.

Am playing MKV files not from disc

are you using a mede8ter? if so the file name does require the .SBS.mkv to force the player into the full frame packed mode. This wouldn't change between projectors. I am constantly switching between 3D projectors and the .SBS.mkv will launch in full frame packed each time regardless of the projector I'm using.
