Saw RIPD in 3D yesterday on the home screen. It actually was pretty good. 3D depth was very good. I'm not sure why it got panned like it did.

It reminded me of a cross between Men in Black and Ghost Busters.

It was worth a rental, anyway.

Where did you rent it in 3D?

As others have commented. They have a monthly subscription or rent without a monthly fee. I rent without a fee. Yes, some new titles might take a week or two to get. They allow you about a week to view and send back.

I have not had a problem. Two discs were lost in the mail last year, and they replaced them without an issue.

I watched it myself and fully agree with the op's original review of it. Seems they were trying to create and new MIB franchise cheaper(Smith is expensive and Jones is expensive and getting old and while Bridges's is old he is also cheaper to hire). Overall they chose good actors for it with looks that matched their on screen personalities well. Myself and my wife both give it a thumbs up!

Edit: Like most 3D movies the "3D" does enhance the movie, but some of it seems to have been "just for effect" and so 3D is the best way to view this title. An example is the scene shown in the previews of the dead guy running on the glass walled building.

I also agree, another nicely done 3D conversion. I enjoyed the picture, even though it was really formula, due to the perfomances of Jeff Bridges and Ryan Reynolds. The added picture depth worked well for me and I thought it made the whole film more enjoyable.
